It’s hard for us to get away from IKEA cabinetry as it is so affordable.  We wish we could do more custom built in units, but the reality of the tremendous amount of labor involved usually prices us out from doing too many completely custom elements.

In the case of the dining room at Riverbluff, we elected to take a hybrid approach by taking basic ikea kitchen wall cabinets and mounting them to the wall and then wrapping them with 1×4 poplar.  It’s our modern take on the china cabinet and I like how Tommy took the time to wrap the grain around each side to get that waterfall effect.
