Definitely grateful to be working inside as I don’t think we could get anything done out in the sun in this heat. Tom Hughes, our resident master tiler, just laid all the lavender penny-round tile in the master bathroom. I love the contrast of it with the coarse orange and red hued cedar slat ceiling. To quote Tom: “Takes me back to my years working on the line in the Zoloft factory.”
The nice thing about keeping so much of the work in house is that it gives us tremendous flexibility on what to work on and often times we do things outside of the traditional construction sequence. For instance, installing the tile now before the wall cladding allows an easier install as he can lay tile and grout from multiple sides. The only negative is the need to protect it, but we’ve been using Ramboard underlayment and have been happy with the results.
